Phoenix

COMMUNITY

The diversity of Phoenix is a major factor that makes it a great city. The community spirit is what makes it one of the greatest places to live.

Phoenix has been selected four times as an All-America City. The definition of an All-America City is the extent to which its citizens are willing to get involved in the workings of their government for the community. Thousands of citizens have served on city committees, boards and commissions to assure that decisions are in the best interest of the people.

The Phoenix Urban Forestry is dedicated to increasing awareness on the upkeep and maintaince of plants and trees. It is dependent upon community involvement.

Although Phoenix has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few decades, and the city hustles with fast paced business people, it is still the number on place that people choose to retire. Because there are 300 days of sunshine the lush green field of the area golf courses are always available for a round or two for citizens to enjoy a day in the sun.

The Arizona History and Archives Division were created to collect and preserve historical documents, pictures, of Arizona and her residents. It provides access to historical manuscripts books, and government records that are a part of Arizona's history.
